Well, it's been once again a helluva year. Ups, downs, sideways, forwards, backwards, tos and fros... Hell, why don't I just stop with all the anticipation and get this review going... This is BootLeG sampler.., "wha-tha?!?"
Let's get this started on a sour note, I was like most people unemployed for the first part of the year. It sucked royally, not much more I could say about that. Thank goodness that it wasn't long that I found a job that suited my need for customer support and technical support, plus it also recognized me for the hard work that I've put within the company. Unlike my previous employer where all they did was stole two and a half years of my life and did nothing but torment me with false promises of growth and success. But that was a previous post.
The year was also about inconsistency. In particular, my blog. I try to make it work and function to what I want to be with regular posts and possibly different series, and that is still something that I want to do in the future. But as far as the different redesigns and the way, way, too long of a hiatus, it hasn't gone to full fruition. Rest assure, It's definitely scores better than what it was.
This year was also very productive away from the blog. I was able to spend more time with my family and was able to help my friends in times of need. They thought that I was there to help them, but in reality, it was them that were helping me. In the duration of my unemployment I've became a little depressed and they were my gateway to help me out of my slump, even after me getting the job. So to those who were there to put up with my shit, thank you.
In retrospect, outside of that it hasn't been much for the BootLeG sampler.., I haven't even written any new music. One in part was because I sold my basses, the other is that I haven't had much inspiration to write (or time matter of fact), but with my library, I could spend a little bit of time off, and come up with some fresh and awesome material. Lyrics could come and go, no biggie, and if it takes some time before I go back to that rhythm, it's all good.
There was one thing that I do plan to continue on. I am currently learning on editing my own videos learning about the different cinematography techniques like lighting and all that jazz. I figure it was a passion of mine for a while and I wanted to bring that into fruition along with my blog. I'm recovering some old 'Jackass' style stuff that I've filmed from years ago and seeing if I could get that up here first before I look into start any kind of plans for production of a series of some sort. Be sure to come back for big things to come.
Anyways, that was the year in review. 2010 was good, it was a tearjerker, it was... 'wha-tha?!?' In a nutshell, it was what it was. All I can say right now is 2011, bring it on... BRING IT ON!!! Seriously, just can't wait to see it has in store for us all. Here's to a prosperous New Year everyone...

Fantasy Football: Full Throtle

So it's October and we're knee deep in gridiron action. We had injuries, surprises, and hell even the Detroit Lions won a game finally (nothing like a 19-game losing streak to make the news scoring a W). But what I'm talking about in relation good ol' BLG.. is fantasy football. I posted a helluva long time back about being asked to join a fantasy football league. Well, that spawned to me being associated in three, yes three different leagues simultaneously. Seriously, that's a lot of maintenance.
I have one from work that I was invited into (that would have been number 1). Then there's one that I'm doing with a few of my friends from work and outside of work, plus a third one with another set of close friends. That's a lot on my plate this year, the most that I've done yet. And it wasn't until about 2 years ago that I've been bitten by the fantasy football bug and at first it was fantastic just learning the ropes. The second year was more of a rebuilding fundamentals and I made it to the playoffs only to be knocked out on the first round last year. Now it's like running a friggin' gauntlet with three different leagues with three totally different lineups hoping that I could just break even at the end. Although I am happy to say that I'm 3-1 on one league and had a bye week on another that was well needed cause most of my lineup was eff'd up for that week. Ah the troubles of having eyes that are too big for your stomach, it's a fickle bitch.
What the hell ever happened to just going to a sports bar, enjoying a beer and the game and not worry about "crap, like a third of my lineup is on a bye week and I'm gonna get screwed over like a $3 whore." I miss those days when I just enjoyed the game because it was a sport and I was a spectator. Now I feel like that being commissioned by the NFL to micromanage a select few to assemble the most epic of all teams for that season. ISN'T THAT WHAT THE EFF'N PRO BOWL IS FOR!?! I mean that's been a NFL institution for-like-ever now, why mess with perfection that worked back in the day. I mean, I do it because it's fun and has comradely between friends and co-workers. That's it. Sure the occasional smack talk ensures but that's because we're a bunch of men and that's how we handle our business. But for goodness sake people, it's just a eff'n game. Let it be, and have some fun with it. So what if your team sucks, just remember one thing: at least you're not the 2008 Lions (still LMAO on that one).
To a healthy season for every football fanatic...

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly...

So there has been a lot of things that I wanted to talk (rant, whatever) about over the past few days. So much that it as been hard set to set just one thing for itself when I have so many things on my mind to voice about, so I'll just break it down to three things at this time and listed under Good, Bad, or Ugly.
So lets start off with the good. PUNCH-OUT for the Wii. So awesome, so can't wait to get it. It's about time that the Wii puts out some great games that are exclusive to it (the first of this wave of awesomeness happens to be Madworld.) I can't wait to go and get my hands on it. There's unlockable difficulty levels depending on how you play the game and the reviews of it seems to be on the positive side. But that's all opinion based too and in my opinion, PUNCH-OUT is a knock-out.
Another good thing is the fact that I'm finally getting well adjusted to my new shift, being overnights and all. All thanks to managing sleeping time schedules and working around what, when, and where I can sleep. Since I take the bus to commute to work, not because I don't drive or don't have a car but because I prefer to let my wife have the car in case of emergencies, that I have to work on breaking down my sleep. A few hours once I'm home and during my bus trips to and from work. And I'll tell ya, that's enough to get the juices flowing for whatever may come.
Now for the bad. Getting burned by what I thought were suppose to be my friends really starting to piss me off. Me and my wife have a couple of friend that what we thought were really close. Then all of a sudden, they started acting like jackasses and stop talking. They go though this in and out phase from time to time and there would be a time where they would need our assistance and we would bend over backwards to help. But when it's the other away around and we ask for their assistance or just to try and hang out, they're total jerks about it and don't even want to acknowledge us. They even gone to the point of stealing friends (which had no prior relations to them) from us. That's bullshit. In my opinion, they're users and abusers and I don't need that kind of rubbish in my life. Life's too short to deal with the drama of others, and they'll realize that they have loss a truly valuable asset in their lives.
Finally, we've gotten to the part of the ugly. This is just random crap that I've either wanted to talk about or will eventually publish later. Remakes of childhood products: so they've done Transformers, Batman, G.I. Joe, and now in production of Thundercats, I wonder, where the hell is He-Man!?! Another thing is that I'm really into gaming and the debate of whether to play mames of classic game titles online from certain websites or playing DLC on a console. Also in that respect, the stand on modding consoles versus building gaming computers, what is the benefit of such in a point-counterpoint debate.
This is just some of the thoughts that I've had and wanted to get off of my chest. The good, the bad, and the ugliness that is BootLeG'd Ramblings.
